Goodbye, Blackberry Way.

Hello, Morioh-cho! This is Kinoto and Cheap Trick speaking!

Huh? What's with that face? You're worried about Cheap Trick? Don't be! I'll admit, it was pretty scary there for a moment, but with some help from Mr. Kishibe, things have worked out just fine! Look, I'll even show you my back!

Anyway, did you need something? An appraisal for your renovations? An estimate for adding a new room to your house? A consultation for an apartment building?

Here, take my car(r)d!

Compressed Backstory:

Born the second of three children, to say Masazo's life was average would be an understatement. His parents were happily married, he got along well enough with his siblings, and he had good grades in school. From an early age he'd been fascinated by architecture and the building process, so becoming an architect just seemed natural.

On the surface, everything seemed fine, but Masazo knew there was something very wrong. He loathed himself. He hated his long hair, his long skirts, his long stockings. He dreaded developing breasts and hips, and each time his menstrual cycle came around, he felt disgusting to the point of tears.

He hated himself for having been born a girl. He knew that after university he'd be expected to get married and have children, but even the idea of being treated like a wife, of pregnancy and child-rearing, made him sick. He felt trapped, doomed to a life of blood and misery.

During his sophomore year in college, Masazo was introduced to the works of the American architect Barry Dierks and became infatuated with his modernist work in France. Through books and essays, he eventually learned that Dierks was gay.

A whole new world of possibilities was opened to Masazo. He hadn't known people could be anything but heterosexual. Between his school reading, he devoured every book related to queerness that he could find. And in these books, a word stood out to him--

Transsexualism.

He was shaken to his core.

The book he had been reading classified transsexualism as a mental disorder, but as he read more, Masazo had never felt so mentally sound in all of his life. Finally, there was a word for his feelings-- and if there was a whole word dedicated to it, it meant he wasn't alone! It meant he wasn't doomed after all!

Two years later, he graduated. His hair cut, his wardrobe masculine and his name changed, he entered the work force. There were hiccups, of course-- companies and clients refused to work with him, or acted suspicious of him. For a long while after he graduated, he wasn't making enough money to leave home. But after a break involving a client with deep pockets and lots of friends, he finally found himself getting steady work.

By twenty-nine, he'd found himself comfortable, albeit lonesome. When he began to hear the voice of an old man calling him, he wondered if his isolation had finally driven him mad. Despite this, he followed the voice.

When he awoke later that night, he felt the strangest fear of anyone seeing his back...

Misc. Headcanons:

-He smiles when he's happy, he smiles when he's scared, he smiles when he's nervous. Basically, he smiles at any kind of strong emotion.
-He's working out of someone else's firm right now. He likes his boss and coworkers, but he'd like to have his own firm someday.
-He has a nice apartment in Morioh's business district, but what he'd really love is to design and build a home of his own.
-He's gone on a few dates, but he's never had a partner. He likes the concept of being with someone, but true intimacy is a real fear.
-He's still in contact with his parents, but seeing as they aren't especially supportive of his transition, he keeps contact with them to a minimum.
-In '97 he went to Thailand to have his top surgery done. He still has faded scars that he's self-conscious about, but he's happy to be able to wear clothes without worrying about anyone noting his chest.

While no longer fatal to his user, Cheap Trick is still mischievous and likes to cause a ruckus. He likes to be out at all times and has trouble knowing when to hush.

He can be heard and understood by anyone he feels like talking to, including non-stand users, animals, and even people speaking languages his host doesn't understand.

He may attach himself to your muse for any number of reasons, but if he gets to be too much, Masazo can generally take him back with some gentle coaxing.

Cheap Trick acts as the nagging voice in the back of Masazo's head, only more literal. He will often say things that conscious or cowardice prevent his user from admitting.
